Profile, language and theme
Change your username, display name, profile picture and email address, pick the interface language and theme, and delete your account.
Everything about you is set from the account menu, in the sidebar: the Profile window for what others see of you and the address you sign in with, the Language and Theme entries for the interface. These settings are saved on your profile and follow you from one device to the next.
Opening the account menu
Click the account block, under the Clipfer logo at the top of the sidebar: your avatar (or your initials), your name and your plan badge. The menu recalls your name and your address, then offers, in this order: Profile, Subscription, Credit history, Language, Theme and Sign out.
Editing the profile
- Click Profile.
- Change whatever you like among the fields below.
- Click Save. The message Changes saved. confirms it; if nothing changed, the Studio answers Nothing to save.
Username
3 to 30 characters: letters, digits, hyphen and underscore only. It has to be free; otherwise This username is already taken. shows up.
Display name
Optional, 60 characters at most. It is the name shown in the Studio, for example on My projects cards (by …). When it is empty, your username is used.
Profile picture
Click Change picture and pick a PNG, JPEG or WebP file of 2 MB at most. Another format is refused (Format not accepted), a heavier image too (Image too heavy: 2 MB at most.). Remove goes back to your initials.
Email address
Changing your address requires a confirmation: a message goes to the new address, and until its link is opened, your current address stays active. A typo therefore never locks you out of your account.
Team
The Team section currently reads No team yet: this account is yours alone. A Clipfer account is individual; its projects and credits are shared with no one.
Changing the language
- Open the account menu, then Language.
- Choose French or English.
The whole interface switches language at once, without reloading the page: tool names, steps, messages. Tool names differ between languages (for example Coupe-silence becomes Silence Remover), but your projects and settings stay the same.
Choosing the theme
In the same menu, the Theme entry offers three interface settings:
- Light
- Dark
- System: follows your computer's or phone's setting.
The theme applies at once and follows your account: sign in elsewhere and you find it again. It only concerns the Studio; the public website stays dark.
If you are not signed in
Language and theme can still be changed, but they are then only kept in this browser. Once signed in, the chosen setting is copied to your profile and follows you everywhere.
Deleting your account
At the bottom of the Profile window, the Delete my account section erases your files, your projects, your history and your credits for good. The action is final: nothing can be recovered, by you or by the team.
- Click Delete my account.
- Type the word DELETE in the confirmation field.
- Click Delete permanently.
If a subscription is running, cancel it first from the Subscription page to avoid a later charge.
