Data controller
The data controller is the publisher of Clipfer, [name and address — to be completed]. Contact for any question about data: contact@clipfer.com.
Data processed
Account: email address, password (hashed), username, language and preferences, login dates.
Content: the videos, photos, captions and texts you upload or produce, their transcripts, the frames extracted for analysis, and the projects grouping them. This content may contain third-party data (voices, faces) for which you are responsible.
Usage and payment: credit balance and history, plan subscribed, customer identifier at Stripe (never the card number), technical logs (IP address, browser, errors) needed for security and operation.
Exchanges: messages sent to support, ratings and feedback you send us.
Purposes and legal bases
Providing the service (performance of the contract): creating and managing your account, processing your videos, rendering and storing your files, counting credits, collecting payments.
Securing and improving the service (legitimate interest): preventing fraud and abuse, diagnosing errors, measuring tool usage in aggregate. Complying with our legal obligations (accounting, requests from authorities).
Providers
Supabase (database, authentication, file storage): servers located in Paris, France.
Google Cloud (video rendering service): Paris region, France. Your videos pass through it for the time of the processing.
Deepgram (transcription): the audio track of your videos is sent to it, in the United States, to be transcribed. Clipfer does not keep this audio after transcription.
Anthropic (Claude models, analysis): for Clipping and Text Overlay, the transcript and a few reduced frames (face thumbnails, moments of the video) are sent to it, in the United States, to suggest moments or write captions. The video itself is never sent.
Stripe (payment): collects and stores your card data; Clipfer only receives a customer identifier and the payment status. Cloudflare (website delivery, protection): processes IP addresses and request logs.
Transfers outside the European Union
Deepgram and Anthropic process data in the United States. These transfers are governed by the European Commission's standard contractual clauses or by the applicable adequacy decision, and limited to what is strictly necessary: audio for transcription, transcript and reduced frames for analysis.
The other processing (accounts, files, rendering) stays in France.
Retention periods
Your files and projects are kept as long as your account exists and within the storage of your plan; you can delete them at any time. The bin keeps a deleted file for a few days before permanent erasure.
Account data is deleted when the account is deleted. Payment data and credit history are kept for the time required by accounting obligations (ten years).
Technical logs are kept for at most twelve months. Data sent to the transcription and analysis providers is not kept by Clipfer beyond the processing.
Your rights
You have a right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability of your data, and the right to set directives after your death.
To exercise them, write to contact@clipfer.com; a reply is given within one month. Deleting the account from your profile erases your files, projects and data.
You can also lodge a complaint with the French data protection authority (CNIL).
Security
Your files are stored in a private space accessible only with your session; the database applies row-level access rules, and exchanges are encrypted in transit.
Produced files are stripped of their metadata (device, location, software) before download. In case of a data breach presenting a risk to you, you will be informed in accordance with the GDPR.
Minors
The service is intended for adults. If you learn that a minor has created an account, write to contact@clipfer.com: the account and its data will be deleted.
Changes to this policy
This policy may evolve with the service. The version in force is the one published here, with its date; an important change is announced in the software.
