Your first variations with the Metadata Editor

Produce five versions of one video, compare the preview, run the batch, read the uniqueness check and download the ZIP archive.

Video coming soonA short video of this tutorial will be added here. Until then, the steps below are all you need.

The Metadata Editor produces several versions of the same video, each with cleaned metadata and a different fingerprint. This tutorial takes one video and turns it into five variations ready to publish.

Before you start

  • A video in MP4, MOV, M4V or WebM; keep it short for a first try.
  • Credits: 1 credit per version and per started minute. Five versions of a one-minute video cost 5 credits.
  • "Video service ready" shown in the tool: the service re-encodes the files in your private space.

Steps

  1. Open Metadata Editor, stay on the Video tab and drop your video into "Videos to vary". Click Continue to the settings.
  2. In the Configure step, set the Number of versions to 5. The "Custom number of versions" field accepts 1 to 100.
  3. Keep the Preset "Subtle", marked "Recommended": the balance between variety and a natural look. "Very subtle" makes the variations almost imperceptible; "Custom" opens every transformation (Light zoom, Subtle rotation, Light and contrast, Speed 0.98× to 1.02×, Mirror effect).
  4. Under "Output", leave the Resolution at 1080p: that is what TikTok, Instagram and YouTube Shorts publish, and rendering is three times faster than 4K. Click Generate a preview.
  5. In the Preview step, compare the original and the variant with the Compare, Original and Variant modes; both players share the same time. Show another version displays another recipe. Click Confirm this preview: nothing is sent until it is confirmed.
  6. Click Continue to the export. The "Exports expected" card sums up the source videos, the versions per video and the estimated storage. Click Start the batch: the "Start the batch?" dialog shows the cost in credits and your remaining balance. Confirm.
  7. Follow the queue: "Processing · name · Version 2", then "Uniqueness check and archive".
  8. Read the Uniqueness check: "Result: the 5 produced videos all differ from one another", with distinct checksums, distinct sizes and the closest pair. If an identical pair is reported, click Run this video again to get another recipe.
  9. Download: Download under each file, or Download everything (ZIP) for the full archive, which also holds rapport.csv (the match with the source) and recettes.json (the values applied).

Expected result

Five files with a neutral name, for example vid_a8f2k9.mp4, with the source tags (device, GPS, software, title, author) removed; each export carries the actual date of its render, a new identifier and a new checksum. The check confirms the produced files differ from one another; it does not predict how a social network will behave. Cost: 5 credits for a one-minute video. A failed render is refunded automatically.
