Clean the silences out of a whole folder

Upload a folder into Silence Remover, pick the cut level, listen to the uncertain cuts and export every video as a ZIP.

Video coming soonA short video of this tutorial will be added here. Until then, the steps below are all you need.

Silence Remover takes the dead air out of videos that are already edited: silences, hesitations, the wait before an answer. It handles a whole folder at once, proposes the cuts video by video and renders each file right away.

Before you start

  • A folder of MP4, MOV, M4V or WebM videos, each with an audio track: without sound, no silence can be found.
  • Credits: 1 credit per started minute of output video, that is, after cutting.
  • Optional: the transcription (Deepgram) to snap the cuts to the words; it counts against your monthly minutes.

Steps

  1. Open Silence Remover and, under "Videos to clean up", click Choose a folder then Choose the folder. Only supported videos are read; nothing is copied before launch. Click Continue to the settings.
  2. In the Configure step, under "Cut level", pick the Mode: "Natural" removes the long dead air and keeps the breathing; "Dynamic" shortens the pauses further; "Ultra dynamic", marked "Recommended for social media", cuts as soon as one person stops talking, keeping speech, laughter and vocal reactions.
  3. Turn on Use the transcript to improve the cuts if you like: the cuts snap to the words, never inside a word, never on the end of a sentence. The "Technical settings" (thresholds, margins, protections) are not needed for a first batch.
  4. Click Analyze and cut the silences. The "Cost: …" line shows the credits estimated on the length after cutting, and your balance. Confirm: the service measures sound and picture, proposes the cuts, then renders each video.
  5. In the Analyze step, "Silences found" shows, for each video, the length before → after and the time saved. Every silence has its reason: "Pause between two sentences", "Wait before the answer", "Blank at the end, after the last useful reaction".
  6. Click Review the cuts. In the Review step ("Compare before and after"), open a video marked "N cuts to review". Play Original then Without the silences; the waveform tells "Silence removed" from "Speech and reactions kept".
  7. To listen to a cut, expand "Silences found" and click Listen on the row you want. If you miss that pause, click Keep: the video is rendered again on its own, and its older file is no longer offered. "No uncertain cut": go straight to the export.
  8. Click Approve everything and continue. In the Export step, wait for each video to show "Ready", then click Download everything (ZIP). A failure is rerun with Retry the failures.

Expected result

As many files with a neutral name (vid_…) as videos uploaded, without the silences, the sources untouched. Every file goes through a dead-air check; if some remains despite the automatic fix, the timeline says so ("file delivered as is"). The archive holds rapport.csv, which links each produced file to its source. Cost: the length after cutting, rounded up to the started minute for each video; a failed render is refunded.
